BARS & RESTAURANTS

Bar Casa Carmelo

Typical Spanish bar, just around the corner from Las Canteras beach. The main dish in this place is the fried octopus with mojo sauce but the rest is also as good: squid, tuna steaks, fresh fried fish…etc. Even though the bar itself is not sophisticated at all it does have that cosy feeling. Mixed and varied clientele, from businessmen to bneigbour or even some students love popping in.

Mi Tata Viejo
Without a doubt this is THE PLACE for an excellent Argentinian churrasco and delicious steaks. The meat they serve is sensational. Its location is just across the airport with its cosy ambiente and warm welcome whenever you come in to enjoy your meal. It is always pretty full so you’d better book a table in advance.

La Tasca del Vino
Their daily menus are something else: great quality and reasonable price. Right in the centre of the city and just a few minutes walk from Las Canteras beach. They do offer a vast selection of wines. Good and varied number of local dishes and tapas and also from mainland Spain, Argentina and Uruguay. Desserts are definitely to die for. Better to book a table beforehand. Danilo, the owner and chef, will make you feel just at ease enjoying his fab creations.

American Graffiti Diner
It has recently opened in the brand new Las Ramblas Shopping Mall. This typical American Diner has its 50’s looks. Good rock & roll & swing while grabbing a burger or a hot dog (the best at this place). These do also have their smaller version for kids. There is a children’s playground nearby and a free parking too.

Club Hindostánico
Don’t be let down by its location: second floor across Casa del Marino. Without any doubt, this place has the best curry in the whole island. This Indian Community Club is your only option when dying to get a good curry: the chicken tika masala is the star of their menu. Book a table beforehand. It does offer reasonable prices, excellent customer service from all behind the bar and restaurant.
